Abstract

The history of philosophy has forgotten a fundamental event: the Greek philosopher who invented the animal ethics is called Empedocles, whose thinking is concerned with an animalistic philosophy that aims to deconstruct the animal’ sacrifice. This thinker, as well as being an expert in the evolution of animals, created the first vegan philosophy that involves a radical criticism of all structures that incite violence towards animals; therefore, he would have been the first to make this complaint. It’s important to discover thisdeconstructivistthinker by means of another animalistic philosopher, i.e, Derrida, whose concepts can be interpreted in the light of Empedocles’sliberating thought. The strength of his animal philosophy clarifies our present.
