Abstract

The aim of this study is to answer two questions. The first one interrogates if the conceptual tools offered by the reason and by the moral theory are enough to overcome the difficulties of the anthropocentric paradigm. The second one deals with the possibility of coordinating animal ethics with the rights framework. If we accept that a non- anthropocentric animal ethics is possible and if we approach it to the issue of the rights, then, first of all, we must reconsider the rights themselves. The structures articulated to the rights related to the citizenship raise some difficulties. As an alternative to this view, it has been suggested the possibility to establish a link between rights and the corporeality.
