Resumo

O que significa para uma pessoa declarar seu veganismo ao mundo? Como a transição de uma dieta para outra afeta o senso de identidade de alguém? O veganismo desafia o caráter fundamental de como nós “representamos” a nós mesmos –sobretudo no contexto da sexualidade e gênero. No meu artigo, estou interessado no potencial do veganismo para romper o vínculo “natural” entre as formações de gênero e o consumo de produtos animais, no que se refere às genealogias sociais e culturais. Consequentemente, vou explorar uma forma queer de veganismo que afirma o impacto radical do que Sara Ahmed chama de “desvio compartilhado”.
