Del dominio al intento de comunicación:
un análisis de los métodos de doma para equitación

El propósito de este artículo es trazar un panorama sobre los métodos de doma y entrenamiento inicial, hoy en práctica en la equitación occidental, haciendo hincapié en el contexto brasileño. Son abordados métodos de doma “tradicional” y “racional”. Para una mejor comprensión de la configuración actual de estos métodos, es necesario sumergirse en la relación humano/ caballo, desde su domesticación hasta el establecimiento de técnicas modernas de horsemanship natural. También es preciso comprender la construcción de la imagen occidental del jinete – un modelo masculino de fuerza y poder, que triunfa sobre la animalidad –modelo que hoy comienza a ser deconstruido.
