Abstract

The philosophy of animality has changed our ontology, ethics and subjectivity. Out of this revolutionary movement, whereby the human has reconfigured its relation with the nonhuman, an animal philosophy has been established. In contemporary philosophy it is the nonhuman animals those who bear the burden of answering the question "what is man?". In the present article we investigate what kind of position animals occupy and to what kind of otherness they belong. We start from three famous images to underline hospitality as a political movement that is also changed by the relationship with nonhumans.
