Abstract

This article, concisely, aims to analyze some topics in the debate about Nietzsche's thought and the criticism of anthropocentrism. We chose to develop this analysis based on the issue of cynical animality. It is divided into four moments: the first, bringing Nietzsche's philosophy closer to that of Diogenes, the philosopher dog; the second, pointing out the criticism that Nietzsche will receive as a neocynical philosopher, as a philosopher propagating a false canism; the third, Nietzsche's criticism of pseudocynicism, coming from Enlightenment characters who frequented the salons of the aristocracy. Finally, we analyze the decline in the philosophical strength of the dog figure, its domestication by the liberal bourgeoisie.
